About me

__

I'm Tiffany N. Berman, an educational researcher and doctoral student at the University of Cincinnati. I have thirteen years of experience as a lead teacher in early childhood education.

My education journey began with an associate's degree in early childhood education, which focused on infancy through preschool. After obtaining this degree, I began teaching at a preschool focusing on play-based learning in Cincinnati, OH. As I taught, I continued my own education, receiving a Bachelor's in Inclusive Early Childhood Education. This degree program expanded my knowledge base and experience through the elementary grades.

Throughout this time, my children were growing and moving through the educational system from preschool to high school. I found myself growing concerned about the impact of our current educational system on students. The preschoolers in my classroom came to school each day excited, with open curiosity and an inclination to learn about the world around them. However, as students move through their years of schooling, many, such as my children, seem to lose that joy in learning in the classroom.

After careful consideration, I continued my education to obtain a Master's Degree in Curriculum & Instruction, focusing on STEM learning. I aim to obtain a doctorate in education studies to further my opportunities to research our educational system and work toward a system that encourages student curiosity and love of learning rather than stifling it.
